What’s in Your Mouth?

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8

When is the last time you heard “Jesus says …..” or “The Holy Spirit/LORD told us that …..” Quoting Holy Scripture is all too rare these days and yet it shouldn’t be. – “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth …”

When is the last time you spoke God’s Word aloud? – “He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.” (Prov. 12:17)

Are you ashamed of Jesus Christ?

“Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.” Luke 12:8-9

Beloved, let us repent and return to our God and begin speaking forth His holy truth in His love.

If you could choose, just who would you want representing you? According to Joshua 1:8 of God’s Word, prosperity and success come from the LORD alone. Do you want the Son of God talking you up in Heaven to the Father? If so there are some things you should know. Jesus told you that He confesses you to the Father in Heaven as you confess Him and His holy Word to men on earth (Mk. 8:34-38). Get that mouth open for the One who made and died for your sins and the sins of the whole world (1 Jn. 2:1-2). Watch how God blesses your life!

May the LORD this hour unite our hearts to fear His holy name and obey Him in telling others of His goodness and love (Ps. 86:11; Eph. 4:15).

God’s Word is Truth

The only way to overcome and endure to the end to reign with Jesus is to draw nigh to Him and to FLOOD your mind and heart with His holy truth!!!! – to the Father Jesus said “Thy Word is truth.” (Jn. 17:17)  “Buy the truth and sell it not.” (Prov. 23:23)  As we see the fulfillment of prophetic Scriptures coming to pass before our very eyes things are getting very exciting brothers and sisters. So, let’s do as He said and lift up our heads and look up, for our redemption draweth nigh/close/near (Lk. 21:28). Ready or not – Jesus is coming as He promised.

“And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.” Isaiah 59:14

                                         

The so-called pastors of today could care less about the LORD and the eternal souls of men that Jesus came and bled for. They are all about lifting up and promoting self and their little church business (Isa. 56:10-12; Jer. 23; Ezek. 34; Matt. 23; Phil. 3:17-19). So who is going to tell the lost? – “How shall they hear without a preacher. And how shall they preach, except they be sent?” (Rom. 10:14-15) It’s the remnant disciples who are getting God’s work done in this last hour. The false prophets are the blind who are leading the blind into the ditch of eternal damnation in the church houses and through their antichrist literature and messages. Yet, those who truly love Jesus are obeying His Great Commission command to “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mk. 16:15) They fear no man and love the LORD and people enough to speak His truth in love (Eph. 4:15).

As was foretold of the final days, pagan filth is not only creeping but pouring into the church world (Jude 3-4). In this late hour, among the large percentages of those who claim to be Christians, only a few are true to Jesus (Matt. 7:19-29). We know this for several Bible reasons, one being that our LORD told us that those who are “of God” hear God’s Word (Jn. 8:47). He also told us that those “not of God” are identified by the fact that they do not honor God and therefore do not honor His Word (Jn. 8:47). Any person who does not love and desire God’s Word, is on their way to hell – they have rejected the only Savior who told us all that if any of us are ashamed of Him AND His words, He will be ashamed of and reject us at the coming Judgment (Mk. 8:38).

Path To Misery – Wanna Be Miserable Or Full Of Heaven's Joy?

“In thy presence (and will) is fullness of joy.” (Ps. 16:11) Ask yourself: Why do you see so many miserable people in your world? The answer is simple – people who serve self are and will always be miserable. This is a sin. Serving self is making ourselves an idol and the very first commandment says “Thou shalt have NO other gods before me.” (Exod. 20:3) God did not create you to serve self but rather to serve and worship Him with your spirit, soul, and body. If I want to be miserable, all I have to do is deny Christ instead of self. Especially in light of His soon return, our affections should be set on things above and not upon those things on this earth (Col. 3:1-4). When I deny self that the Savior might reign supreme in me, He raises me up in His power, life, love, and joy. I lack nothing when hidden in Jesus. He fills my heart, strengthening my inner man to lift Him up and to lift up His people, serving others as unto Him (Eph. 3:15-17). Open your Bible, read, pour over, pray over, and meditate upon Philippians 2:3-5. Make it your spiritual meat over the next few days. Your life will never be the same.

Who are You Feeding?

Proverbs 10:21 says “The lips of the righteous feed many."

The LORD saved us for His purpose and told us that His purpose is that we be fruitful in relationship with Him and therefore in making Him known to others (Jn. 15:1-16). Getting God’s Word in the hearts of others is the calling He gave you to make Him know – “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel …” (Mk. 16:15)

No feeding, no fruitfulness in ministry or making Him known to others. The seed of His Word must be planted in the hearts of men and God’s children are the only ones who can do this (Mk. 16:15; Lk. 8:5, 11; Rom. 10:14; 2 Cor. 5:17-20; Rev. 22:17). God’s words are divinely charged. They are inherently empowered by His Spirit (Jn. 6:63; Rom. 1:16; 10:17). He needs no help with the “incorruptible seed” of His Word, only finding those who will serve Him and sow His Word in the hearts of lost souls (1 Pet. 1:23). When that is done, He takes over (Isa. 55:11; 1 Cor. 3:6-9).

Planting His words in the hearts of men is a command so there is no need to pray about whether we should do such. We should pray and lay down our lives, asking Him to empower us to do exactly and specifically what He clearly commanded of us in His holy Word.

Proper New Testament Fellowship

Joining yourself with a body of other disciples is essential to your life in Christ as the body of Christ continues worshiping Jesus Christ in spirit and in truth (Jn. 4:23-24; Acts 2:42). In that gathering or assembly of believers there will be called-out elders set forth to feed His flock with His Word and by His power as we continue richly in “the apostle’s doctrine.” (Acts 2:42; Col. 3:16) – “Feed the church of God.” (1 Pet. 5:2)

“Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.” Hebrews 13:7

Key to the above verse: They speak “the word of God.”

“Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.” Hebrews 13:17

Who Am I Delighting In?

"Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." (Ps. 37:4) If I am not delighting in the LORD God, then does that make me an idolater? It sure does and He said "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." (Exod. 20:3) "O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him." Psalms 34:8

Travel or Heaven’s Treasure?

Traveling to a distant and exotic land is not going to change the state of one's heart and therefore can be futile. The Laodiceans had money, wealth, commerce, and material goods and yet the Son of God said that they were "wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked." Revelation 3:17 (KJV)

Here's the whole verse:

"Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.” Revelation 3:17

Travel, money, and things are external and cannot change the state of the human heart. They are therefore vanity and futile in their final analysis. I would rather stay put and enjoy the love, joy, and peace of Christ than to travel to exotic places with a heart that is void of the very Riches of Heaven - Jesus Christ.

Geographic relocation is not the answer to the deep need of sinful man. Jesus Christ, the very Prince of peace, is our answer.  

“Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Colossians 2:2-3

Statues or Statutes?

“The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.” Psalms 19:7-8

This week in Ohio, a 6-story, $250,000 church statue of “Jesus” was struck by lightening and destroyed. The statue was located on a busy highway where thousands passed daily. Obviously this church thought that their stature was going to bring people to Christ or to their church.

Questions:

·         In His Great Commission, did the LORD command us to “Go and make graven image statues of what we think He looks like”?

·         Are sinful men brought to the LORD in salvation by physical images or by the incorruptible Word of God? (1 Peter 2:23)

·         What is it that does not return void? – is it plaster of paris or the Word of God? Isaiah 55:11

·         What better kingdom use could that same $250,000 have been used for to meet the needs of God’s people and to reach lost souls?

·         Jesus said “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15 This command has not changed an iota.

·         Are you obeying the LORD you claim to be serving by telling others about Him?

Beware of the waste and frivolous, self-serving expenditure of earthly treasures. As Christ’s disciples, we must follow Him and His holy apostles who never spent a penny on a physical building, much less continued to build extravagant earthly edifices for the glory of sinful men while feigning to be doing it for God.

Blessed is He that Readeth

Revelation 1:3

I am convinced that the difference between those who discern truth from error and those who don’t is simple Bible reading. The Word of God is very sharp and cutting and circumcises away the frivolity, foolishness, falsehood, and false teachers (Ezekiel 44:23; Hebrews 4:12). The importance of getting into God’s Word daily cannot possibly be over emphasized. There are millions upon millions of souls who had in their earthly lives been saved at some point and then fell away (Luke 8:13; 1 Timothy 4:1-3). Why did they fall away? – Because they didn’t seek the LORD in fellowship (prayer and the Word and Christ-centered fellowship with other believers). We must all choose and we do choose – daily.

“Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. 13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” Matthew 25:1-13

Think about your day, today, yesterday…. What did you choose to make time for? Was God first? Did you awake to diligently seek His holy face? Did you get into His Word and get His Word inside of you? Did you seek His face in prayer communion and praise?

“And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. 18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, 19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.” Mark 4:17-19

Are you ready for Christ’s soon return? Or, are you playing?

“Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged (weighed down) with surfeiting (over indulgence), and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare (trap) shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Luke 21:33-36

“The Lord looketh on the Heart” 1 Samuel 16:7

God Sees the Pride of Man’s Heart

“Serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations (motives) of the thoughts … “ 1 Chronicles 28:9

NEVER name a “ministry” outreach using your own name. Why? – Because it’s not about you, ministry is all about Jesus Christ.

In the final days, we are told that people claiming to be representing Christ will have a mere “form of godliness” and yet “shall be lovers of their own selves” and also “lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.” (2 Timothy 3:1-7)

The definition of an hireling is that he does ministry to bring glory to self and not the Savior.

Paul announced his own insufficiency and poverty of self without Christ…

“Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;” 2 Corinthians 3:5

“For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.” 2 Corinthians 4:5

Perhaps naming a ministry after our own name is indicative of who is the focus of that “ministry” is … us. God have mercy on us and teach us Your ways! Bless and break us to know You and rejoice only in knowing You.

“Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: 24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.” Jeremiah 9:23-24

Concerning his privilege of serving the LORD/ministry, Paul said “Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;” (Ephesians 3:8)

Even Jesus proclaimed His Father’s name:

“I have manifested THY name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.” John 17:6

Keeping God’s Word includes proclaiming the name above all names in all we do. Naming a “ministry” after ourselves is declaring our own sinful name instead of the name of the LORD Almighty and reveals that we don’t yet have a clue who He really is and therefore have no business trying to do public ministry in the first place (Revelation 1:8).

Naming a so-called “ministry” after ourselves is a violation of all of the Word of God and its clear message. The man after the LORD’s heart said:

“I will declare THY NAME (not my name!) unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.”  Psalms 22:22

“NOT unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto THY name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.” Psalms 115:1

“Look thou upon me, and be merciful unto me, as thou usest to do unto those that love thy name.” Psalms 119:132

“Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto THY name (not their own name): the upright shall dwell in thy presence.” Psalms 140:13

“LOVE One Another”

“LOVE one another” is a command that appears 12 times in the NT Scriptures. Without it we are nothing, even if we give our very body to be burned (1 Corinthians 13).

How did Jesus tell us His people are known?

“By THIS shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” John 13:35

How does a person know he is truly God’s child? Is it because he at one time prayed a prayer? Is it because he goes to church? Is it because he/she does ministry? No!

“We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren.” 1 John 3:14

Not walking in love demonstrates that one is not saved and on his way to the lake of fire.

“He that loveth not his brother abideth in death (separation from God). Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding (remaining) in him.” 1 John 3:14-15

Above all these other things we are told in Holy Scripture, what are we to do?

“Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.” Colossians 3:12-14

“Love one another” is a divine command and not a mere suggestion. If we love the LORD we love His beloved people – period. If we don’t have love for His people, we simply do not know Him who “is love.” (1 John 4:8, 16)

“And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” 1 John 4:16

Outer Garb or Inner Beauty?

“For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.” John 12:43


The enemies of our LORD sought to be seen, celebrated, accepted, and aggrandized of men. But the true disciple agrees with the apostle Paul when He wrote “For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.” (Philippians 3:3)


“Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.” Psalms 51:6

“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8


Think about it, Jesus Himself never wore designer clothes. So, wearing our “Sunday best” is not following Jesus or pleasing Him.


It’s time to break traditions that are drawing attention to self instead of the Savior. We should actually be dressing down in order not to draw away attention from Christ onto ourselves.


“That no flesh should glory in his presence. 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 1:29-31


When we begin to see the kingdom of God for what it really is – it’s about KING Jesus, we will begin being uncomfortable around those going along with the tradition of trying to elevate self by what we cover our nakedness with.


Isn’t that what the definition of clothing is? – to cover our nakedness and not to bring glory to sinful self while robbing that glory due only the LORD Jesus Christ?


The truth that God looks upon the hearts of all men is as elementary a biblical truth as can be observed in His Word. Why then do so many glory in show and outward pageantry? Why do people not see this for what it is? Jesus gave us a simple, tangible tool whereby we can measure and discern who is of Him and who is not of Him among those posing as His representatives.


“Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes (fancy clothes), and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts; 47 Which devour widows’ houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.” Luke 20:46-47


I wonder why in some circles, there is the unspoken rule that everyone should “dress up” their flesh to “go to church”? Have you ever thought about how shallow and unbiblical that is? Do we for a moment think God is impressed with the cotton or material covering our nakedness? If so, we have no clue of what God desires and requires from those who will be His and serve Him.



JUST WHO DOES GOD LOOK TO?

“Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? 2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.” Isaiah 66:1-2



The LORD made all and so is not impressed with us when we take the materials HE created and make fancy outer garb to dress the flesh. The Bible tells us that “The LORD looketh ON THE HEART” and not the threads (1 Samuel 16:7). God is not impressed with our formalities especially when they are cloaking wickedness in our hearts.



“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. 24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. 25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. 26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. 27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. 28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.” (Matthew 23:23-28)
